Do we wake up and go about our morning without a thought of the One who has given us our breath? Do we really believe that the eyes we open to the spectrum of color and light and the ears that hear the morning birds sing- that these all a result of chance?
The children are smarter than all of this.
“In the beginning God created …” (1) This makes sense to the child who’s looking … at the expanse of the sky and the puffs of the clouds shaped as cats and dogs and sometimes as a storm going wild.
“Without faith, it’s impossible to please God …” (2)
And, even in view of the thoughts of the world and the news of the day and the struggles we face, ‘without faith it’s impossible’ to be happy, to have hope, to find a strength that lies deep within, to smile …
But, the children? The children have faith, the children have hope. The children will show us once again how to love. They run to the one who’s arms are open wide, who’s words are comfort and truth. Who provides the needs and food.
“Without faith it’s impossible to please God. For whoever would draw near to God must believe He exists. And He rewards those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6.
Without faith, no one’s happy. We ain’t happy. God’s not happy. Do we seek to be happy? Find yourself a child to hang out with for a bit. And think about the wonders of the little guy’s eyes and nose and, well, and …even his spit!
The Bible says, that even before this little one was formed in the womb of his mama, God knew him. (3) Yes, and set the little one apart – and loves them through the years, even, if and when, they depart … because God -never gives up on anyone. God believes the best. God endures the faithlessness … And He waits and He knows, and He loves the children so.
Today … what will we do? Shall we stop, and breathe, and consider all of this!
