If things don’t work out, come through or open up as I thought.
I make the choice, right here, right now. In this present moment – I still believe God.
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, …” Psalm 37:23 says. Perhaps the closed doors, the unanswered prayers, the dead ends are protections from harm. Or maybe not.
If we are to ‘walk by faith and not by sight’, perhaps God is exercising us to Olympic proportions that we win a race we set out at first.
God has a plan. God’s plan is for good. I choose to be stubborn for the Lord, and believe in His Word. Jeremiah 29:11 proclaims that God has thoughts toward me. Psalm 139 reminds me that they are more in number than the sand.
I can set my eyes upon good thoughts as this, or scoff and let my heart go amiss.
I can choose because God gave me choice. He desires my love for Him be a choice that I make. He desires that I choose Him.
Not just once, but made every day. “I look to the hills from whence comes my help.” Psalm 121 verse 1 sets me straight, And I choose to believe that the Lord knows. I will trust Him always.
I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
Oh Lord God of heaven and earth, may I hear your word with my heart this day, may I choose to believe,… even though at times, I don’t understand.
